Pick up guests, drive to Saddle Back Mountain Trailhead 1.5hrs one way which includes a short ferry ride on the Arrow Park Ferry. Hike on and off trail to the lookout, relax and enjoy the spectacular views of Nakusp, Upper Arrow Lakes, Monashee, and Selkirk Mountain Ranges. The trail ascends to a rocky knob above the tree line. The right saddle was chosen as a Forest Service fire lookout because of the panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and valleys. A fantastic alpine hike.
Descend the same way back to the vehicle to enjoy a well-deserved cold beverage and snack. Drive back to Nakusp. Best months to visit to see the Wild Alpine Flowers is July/August.
